"MMS" Blues
(Outlining Chords / Playing the Changes / Improvising)
Written for the Middlesex Middle School Jazz ensemble. This Bb blues outlines each Dom. 7th chord in 8th notes. The second chorus changes the order of the notes, and the third chorus allows the student to choose their own order of the notes. Great introduction to "playing the changes" and applying chord tones to their improvisation.
