Matthew Curley is a music educator, percussionist, and musician currently residing in Connecticut.
Matt is Currently a Middle School Band Director in Darien, CT. Matt previously held the positions of Band Director at Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy in CT, Band Director at Coffee County Central High School and K-5 music teacher at Hillsboro Elementary in Coffee County, Tennessee. Matthew’s natural talent for teaching and unparalleled percussion performance capabilities provide great benefit to his students, no matter the age or skill level.
In addition to his teaching positions, Matthew has performed in ensembles and concerts across the nation. He has performed in a multitude of ensembles including:
Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. He studied under David Smith & Patrick Smith. After completing his Bachelor's degree, Matthew went on to finish his Master's of Music in Percussion Performance from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. At MTSU, he served as a GTA with the percussion & band departments. Matt studied with Lalo Davila, Julie Davila, Derrick Phillips, and other distinguished faculty at MTSU.

Bluegrass
Matthew also plays upright bass with "On The Trail", a bluegrass band based in Connecticut.
On The Trail performs both modern and traditional bluegrass music regularly in the Northeast part of the US.
